Our Project
Mythic Resilience is a youth-led oral storytelling initiative that seeks to combat eco-anxiety by re-imagining myths of the past with knowledge of the present while also amplifying stories from Indigenous communities, who continue to be stewards of the land and water.
Our Mission
To recontextualise the myth of the doomed narrative by showcasing the power of collective action. This initiative started from the 2023 OceanBridge Great Lakes cohort.
Our Goal
To normalize eco-anxiety while also providing hope that nothing truly ends, only transforms. We aim to combat uncertainty and apathy by showing stories of the earth from the past and present. By placing humanity at the centre of these stories, we place control and the power of change in our own hands and futures.
“We are human because — endlessly, indefatigably — we think, dream, talk, and tell ourselves stories about love and hatred.”
— Nancy Huston
